Working With Us
Every project starts with an initial meeting to discuss your vision, goals and budget, and to make sure we’re the best fit for your custom build. We’ll invite you to walk through one of our custom show homes so you see our work for yourself.
From there, we can help arrange for demolition if you have an existing structure on your lot. We’ve designed several signature custom plans, and we work with our clients to modify and personalize their preferred plan to fit their vision.
If you have your own architect, we’ll help ensure your plans make sense, fulfill the vision you have for your dream home, and fit within local building requirements.
We can also help you build so it’s easy to later add features. For example, we’ll prewire for a swimming pool or elevator. Or maybe in a few years you’ll need to convert your game room into a bedroom. We’ll design and build with that need in mind, saving you money and future headaches down the road.
Once the design is final, we’ll create a 3D model of your home using SketchUp, design software that will help you visualize your home down to the details. You’ll get a good sense of details that matter—exactly where windows will go, and how rooms flow into each other. Then, we’ll make tweaks as needed.
At the same time, we get going on your home’s high-end features and finishes. Maybe you want a spa-inspired bathroom with a double rain shower, an oversized master bedroom closet with a built-in island charging station for your devices, a stainless steel farmhouse sink and pot filler, or a custom, iron front door. We can do it all. Unsure of what finishes you want? We’ll help you pick out the best finishes for your project, even advising on details like paint colors, tiles and grout. Don’t have the time? We can decide for you, making the best choices for your individual project.
We handle getting your plans approved by engineers and the city, making it as seamless a process as possible. Then, it’s time to start building.
Our clients decide how involved they want to be in the process. Some prefer less contact, while others like to be in close communication. Either way, we’ll provide regular updates and check-ins throughout.
From start to finish, we’ll be working together for around eight months to a year before you move in to your custom-built dream home.
